MERV, otherwise known as Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value, is a system used to evaluate the efficiency of an air filter based on how effective it is at catching particles of varying sizes. The higher the MERV rating, the higher the air filtration capabilities of a particular filter. For those with pets, allergies, or asthma, we recommend the MERV 10.

14x30x1 MERV 8 takes care of all the basics: pollen, dust, dust mites, lint, mold, and bacteria.

14x30x1 MERV 10 covers everything the MERV 8 does, plus protection against pet dander and skin flakes.

Experts recommend changing your air filters no less than every three months. However, specific conditions may require more frequent changes. If you have pets, we recommend changing your air filter every one or two months. If you only have one air filter for your entire home, you may want to consider changing more often such as every 1-2 months. Allergies? Every month.
